When you want to download games and gaming software for free, it's hard to find quality software. Who needs the worries of trojans, spyware, adware, or worse, when you can get a handy, easy-to-use and safe downloading program? We've tested dozens - even hundreds! - of game download programs. Some of them are great, most of them get the job done (more or less), and too many simply don't work. We've gathered the top contenders in the field, and reviewed them here for your convenience!
After we got everything installed and configured (which took a surprisingly short time), the first impression we got was of an enormous selection. We took the program for a test drive, and we found almost everything we could think of, in very short order. The stuff we didn't find the first time around, we found on our second test run a few hours later. Needless to say, were seriously impressed. We've never seen this much variety before, and while the website navigation leaves a bit to be desired, the program certainly merits our praise.
It's rare when a program does everything it promises to do, and even rarer when that same program is easy to use. In this case, we're glad to say that all of our expectations were met, and more! More specifically, this program promised a fast connection, lots of sources, unlimited downloading, and best of all, ease of use. We were pleased to see that everything worked almost immediately, installing and configuring with virtually no user input. Just plug and play!
Despite the hyperbole of the front page, this software does allow access to an awful lot of games. After installing the software and running it, we had access to a vast library of games and other software. We were impressed, and doubly so after sending a test message to tech support. They responded in just a couple of hours, which is much faster than other companies, considering that the reply was clearly written by a human being, rather than an automated system. The price is completely worth it, in exchange for real tech support.
The software is decent, but the interface on the site is simply confusing. It's hard to get what you want, navigating through menus and submenus. It's not that it seems badly designed on purpose, it simply looks as though it was put together haphazardly. Once you figure out where things are, of course, it's a perfectly fine site, but the first fifteen minutes or so are incredibly confusing.
There's always room for improvement, but this site basically does what it has to: gets you to the downloads, the bonuses, and tech support, all with as little fuss as possible. The software is pretty good - it sets itself up, makes searches and downloads fairly easy. The website, though, could use a little more polish, to guide you through the process a bit more easily. All in all, it's not bad, but it's not great, either.
